Wine For Everyone

We're located on Main Street in Gardiner, NY in the beautiful Hudson Valley. We're on the Shawagunk Wine Trail just minutes from rock climbing, skydiving, hiking and cycling. Owner Carl Zatz designed Enthusiastic Spirits with a few simple ideas: first, a wine shop should be about drinking and serving wine, not about heavy displays and dark cellars (after all, gourmet food is about tasting and eating, not racks and refrigerators). Next, drinking wine is an experience happily shared by friends and family so if there's a party - whether for two or a two-hundred - we'd like to share in the outcome. And finally, winemaking is about storytelling: stories of science, art, and discovery. These are stories for everyone. Stories so rich, we created Enthusiastic Sprits and Wine Shop just so we can tell them

Customers enjoy the way the shop is arranged. It's engaging, friendly, and fun to navigate. We think of the shop as a destination, a place in which to browse and make discoveries. Each wine we sell brings new surprises. And our excellent descriptions make it very easy to steer comfortably through the shop.

Carl envisioned a store that reflected the experiences surrounding wine: friends, family, cooking, and reading a book by the pool. If Williams-Sonoma had a wine section, he thought, it might look and feel like Enthusiastic Spirits. If Barnes & Noble had a wine shop, even if Victoria's Secret sold wine (after all, Kevin Zraly wishes everyone tried Sauternes with sex), then they would all look and feel like Enthusiastic Spirits and Wines.

Each month, our staff selects our Wines of the Month, wines personally chosen to delight our customers. They represent a variety of flavors from some of the world's great vineyards. Each wine has a story. Some may be vaguely familiar but most would be difficult to find anywhere nearby. The selections in our inventory are affordable, absolutely scrumptious, and they are wines for everyone.

Our wines are arranged simply throughout the store - by varietals rather than country or region.
